Integrate with other project schedule apps.

Why I failed to import the XML file exported from QuickPlan into another app?

If the app you are using supports importing a project from an MS Project file, please try the following steps.

  • Use the app MS Project (at PC), create a new project file by importing from the XML file created by QuickPlan.
  • Follow the instructions of the other app to import the newly created MS Project file into the other app.

There is no standard for project scheduling:

  • The functions are different in different apps.
  • The data is not identical in the project files created by different apps.

Fortunately, most project planning apps support integration with MS Project. This means that we can use MS Project as a bridge to share data between different project planning apps. However:

  • The apps don’t know each other to integrate directly.
  • Some of the data may be lost.

If an app supports integration with MS Project, the app will ensure that

  • MS Project can import the XML (or MPP) file created by the app.
  • The app can import the XML (or MPP) file created by MS Project.

However, the app does not know the logic of the other apps when importing. QuickPlan does not see how the other app works when importing and what data the other app needs to import because there is no standard.
